I was excited to read on the internets this afternoon that acclaimed street artist Banksy allegedly hit NYC for the first time in a while. With the news, I explored the general region where the initial photo was taken and wound up finding the piece at 18 Allen Street. Check out a few SHOTS:
This afternoon, @banksyny Instagrammed this initial picture, which drove the online community in to a frenzy. It was later confirmed on Banksy’s site that it is, indeed, the mysterious street artist.
I ran down to Chinatown after work after investigating and determining that the exact location was 18 Allen Street. Look out for a number of other pieces to pop up around the city in the coming week(s). Check out a few photos below (keep in mind, these are iPhone shots):
