I wandered Brooklyn not too long ago and came across a piece of Atlantic City in Greenpoint. What do I mean? Click below:
What I mean by that is that I came across the infamous boardwalk used in HBO’s Emmy-winning Boardwalk Empire. While it’s set in Atlantic City, NJ, some may not realize they actually film their boardwalk scenes (and much of the other footage) in Brooklyn, NY.
The A.C. Daily Press! Truthfully, I tried every angle I could to scoop a shot of the actual boardwalk, but I couldn’t avoid the barriers that were placed around the set to keep snooping eyes away (like my own).
You’ll notice the back of the storefronts in these pictures with the blue screen in front, where they digitally add the beach and the water in front of the boardwalk. Here’s a video of the construction:
