A quick snapshot from an event I worked not too long ago: the Boardwalk Empire season two premiere + after party. Since I’m involved in both music and TV for my professions, it’s sometimes funny to sit down and think about the contrast of the two industries, party wise.
The quick summary:
TV: A lot of power, money and status in one room. It’s much more exclusive and lavish. An older crowd [generally] that looks for a controlled, exclusive environment.
Music: Much fewer people in positions of power. An eclectic mix of press, people who know people, groupies, and people that should not be there but somehow make their way in. Much more laid back. Generally more fun since it’s a younger crowd. Drink situation varies.
